The Mantle House Mission, 132 South Water Street, West Newton, will soon begin housing young women in its transitional home for homeless and near homeless young adults. For more information, please call 724-872-1800 and/or email mantlehousemission@yahoo.com.
Mondays at Mantle House: Mantle House Mission will be having craft classes plus other types of classes twice a month. Dates and classes will be posted as they are scheduled. If you teach a craft or would like to teach a class, please contact Marci Elsbury at the above phone number or email.
A CPR class will be held May 23, 2016 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Community Room. The class will be taught by Mary Popovich and is the American Heart Association Heart Saver – Adults, infants, and Children AED. Cost is $10.
Bowling Event: Mantle House is sponsoring a bowling event on May 15, 2016 at the Sons of Italy in Perryopolis, PA beginning at 1 p.m. Cost is $25/bowler which includes 2 1/2 hours of bowling, shoes, ball, pizza, pop and other items.
Community Yard Sale: June 4, 2016 is the date for our West Newton Community Day Yard Sale. Mantle House has 6 full rooms in the store and sidewalk sales over 50 tables storewide. All household goods, linens, purses, shoes, furniture, small appliances are included in the sale.
New Hours of Operation: New Hours of Operation: Mantle House Mission Resale Store is happy to announce the new schedule: We are now open five (5) days a week Tuesday through Saturday. Beginning May 3, 2016, the store hours will be 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. Stuffed Pork Chop
Dinner/Talent Show: The Mission’s semi-annual Stuffed Pork Chop Dinner/Talent Show will be held at Gary’s Chuckwagon on April 30, 2016; hours are 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. Entertainment will be provided by local vocalists and musicians. There will also be a silent auction. Tickets are $15/person and can be purchased at the Mantle House Mission Resale Store, Ace Hardware in West Newton, and Gary’s Chuckwagon.
Bookstore: Beginning May 3, 2016, the hours are Tuesday – Saturday, 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. We have quite a variety of books at a very reasonable price. The bookstore also accepts donations of books that are in good condition. All proceeds benefit homeless young women in our transitional home.
