The Rostraver Woman’s Club is pleased to announce that, at the Southwestern General Federation of Women’s Club District Arts Festival, held on March 5, 2016, some of the local student projects sponsored by Rostraver Woman’s Club are moving forward to compete at the State Level.

The Southwestern District is made up of women’s clubs in five counties (Allegheny, Beaver, Butler, Greene, and Westmoreland) and all first place district winners will compete at the state level. Chelsea Hartman’s painting, Untitled, won Third Place in Division 2 Grades 3, 4, 5 Student Art. Klaire Temoshenka’s drawing, Taylor Swift, won first place in Division 3 Grades 6, 7, 8 Student Art. For Division 2 Grade 3, 4, 5 Literature, Maria Spedaliere’s poem ‘Autumn’ and short story ‘Princess Recey’ will continue on to the state level competition. Congratulations to all three young ladies and best of luck to Klaire and Maria.
The next meeting of the Rostraver Woman’s Club is Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at 7 p.m. at Fells Methodist Church and is open to all guests. We will be finalizing the details for the Belle Vernon Area High School Senior Girls’ Tea, to be held on May 9, 2016. We are collecting tea cups and saucers for the tea.
