At the February 3, 2016 Rostraver Woman’s Club meeting, members voted on local student art projects as part of the General Federation of Women’s Club Art Contest. Winners are as follows:

The Rostraver Woman’s Club voted on local student art projects at their February meeting.

Division 2: Grades 3, 4, 5 Student Art: First Place - Chelsea Hartman, Untitled; Second Place - Drew Temoshenka, Wall ‘Eye’; Third Place - Maria Spedaliere, Day and Night. Division 3: Grades 6, 7, 8 Student Art: First Place - Klaire Temoshenka, Taylor Swift; Second Place - K. Temoshenka, Effie. Division 2: Student Poetry: First Place - Maria Spedaliere, Autumn. Division 2: Student Short Story: First Place - Maria Spedaliere, Princess Recey. All first place winners will now move forward to compete at the Southwestern Pennsylvania District Level to be held in March in Wilkins Township.

President Spedaliere presented the annual report for the 2015 club year, with only thirteen members’ 273 volunteer hours completed, along with numerous donations, including: a Lego Table at the Rostraver Public Library; Park Bench at the DiVirgilio Sports Complex; Sponsorship for Project Sweet Peas; and the Belle Vernon Area High Senior Girl Tea.

If you would like join the Rostraver Woman’s Club, please attend the next meeting to be held at the Good Ol’ Day House at 914 Broad Avenue, Belle Vernon. Members and guests will tour the house and play nostalgic board games at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 2, 2016.
