On Saturday, September 26 at Peters Creek in Jefferson Hills, Tri Community Anglers held their annual Kids Fishing Day. It was a beautiful day, with 78 kids and parents having fun from 1 – 4 p.m.

Kids Fish Day

The event featured unlimited hot dogs, potato chips and orange drinks. The club sold Tri Community hats and buttons. Then tickets were drawn for prizes. The kids picked from over 70 rods and reels, tackle boxes nets and miscellaneous fishing equipment. Prizes were furnished by various residents that had fishing equipment that they no longer used. There were also other things that residents furnished, including a canoe, 4 HP gas motor, and an electric trolling motor. These items plus many more were sold as a part of a flea market.

We would like to thank all the volunteers that handled registration, 50/50 sales, hat and button sales, cooking hot dogs and running the flea market. The day was a great success, with many kids catching the brown trout that had been stocked previously by Tri Community Anglers.

Once again, a very special thanks to the people that donated the fishing equipment. This enabled us to give a prize to every kid.
