The Rostraver Township Lions Club, in partnership with the Westmoreland County Parks and Recreation Board, are sponsoring “Paws for a Cause,” to be held on October 3, 2015 at Cedar Creek Park at 9:30 a.m.
This is a dog walk to help subsidize the new Dog Park at Cedar Creek to benefit local pets and animal lovers.
Registration will begin at 8 a.m., with the walk commencing at 9:30. The cost is $10 for the first dog and $5 for the second dog by the same owner. Those who pledge $25 or more will receive a scarf for the dog.
In addition to walkers and pledges, the Lions are requesting sponsorships from local businesses, organizations, and individuals to help provide a recreational area for dogs so that the Dog Park can be completed sooner than anticipated. Major donations will be recognized at “Paws for a Cause” with the donor’s name on registration posters and by verbal announcements throughout the walk.
For those who want to support these efforts, please contact Lion Zack Mesher (zackmesher@gmail.com / 724-379-8450) or PID Cindy Gregg (orffteacher1@verizon.net/ 724-872-0707) with additional questions or comments.
Donations are also being accepted, and checks can be made out to Rostraver Twp. Lions Club and sent to Zack Mesher , 441 Gallitin Road, Belle Vernon, PA 15012. Please specify ‘Cedar Creek Dog Park’ in the memo line. All donations will be used for the new Cedar Creek Dog Park.
