The holidays will be here before you know it, and this year, Downtown West Newton Inc. is bringing a new event to our Miracle on Main Street Festival. We would like to give our organizations in town a chance to raise money for their causes.

We are going to host a Christmas tree decorating contest. Each organization must provide its own artificial tree and decorate the tree with a chosen theme. The decorations can be homemade or store-bought and the tree should be between 4 to 5 feet in height. The trees will be displayed in store windows or inside businesses in the downtown area.

Each organization will have its own canister in which the public can place a donation as a vote for their favorite tree. Your organization will also have the choice of auctioning off their tree during the festival via a silent auction. The bidding will run from November 1st until 8:30 p.m. the night of the festival.

All monies raised through the voting and silent auction go back to each participating organization that enters a tree. The organization which raises the most money through the voting and auction process will be winner of this year’s trophy.

We would like to have all the trees ready to be placed by the last week of October for voting to begin on November 1st. Please contact our office at 724-872-0100 to register your organization to participate and if you have any further questions.
