House Demo Takes Place in Buena Vista
By Michelle Taylor

On Tuesday June 23rd, the Woodhouse family demolished another house in Buena Vista.

House Demo 2
The house was demolished this summer after being condemned and deemed unsuitable to be lived in.

They maintain a demolition list, which goes back at least 32 houses and the house on the corner of Milton and Frencik Streets was placed on the list around the beginning of the year. This June, it was carefully and quickly brought down by excavator operator Johnathon Woodhouse.

Many kids and adults gathered around to watch the once-lived-in house turn into a pile of rubble and brick. Like this house, most of the houses have been vacant for 20-30 years and all of them condemned, unsuitable to be lived in.

While it only takes about 3 days to destroy, clean up, level, and seed and mulch the lot for a demolished house, Dave Woodhouse, supervisor of 25 years, said he will be moving onto the very next house once the one he’s working on is done.
