AARP Beginner Driver Safety Course
- Monday, September 14 and 15 - AARP Beginner Driver Safety Course. The program runs from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. in the Meeting Room. *The fees are $15 for AARP members and $20 for non-members.
- Tuesday, September 22 - AARP Refresher Driver Safety Course. The program runs from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. in the Meeting Room. *The fees are $15 for AARP members and $20 for non-members.
Please pay by check payable to "AARP" and if paying by cash, please have the exact amount to be paid to the AARP instructor. Pre-register in the Business Office by Friday, September 18. For additional information call AARP at 1-888-227-7669.
The above courses are only for those having a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license, which must be shown at the start of the course. Those requesting the AARP reduced fee must show a current AARP membership card. Auto insurance companies in most states provide a multi-year discount to course graduates! Please consult your insurance agent for more information about discounts.
Vestibular and Balance Therapy Potluck Lunch and Learn Program
- Tuesday, September 17 - The program runs from 12:30 - 2:30 p.m. in the Activity Hall. Pre-register in the Business Office by Friday, September 11. Dana Schaffer, DPT Vestibular and Balance Therapist with OSPTA Orthopedic & Sports Physical Therapy Associates, Inc. will discuss how therapy works by teaching vestibular compensation exercises, resetting calcium carbonate crystals in the inner ear which have dislodged, improving postural stability, improving visual tracking and/or gait (walking) training depending on the deficits found. The Mon Valley YMCA Women’s Health Fair
- Monday, October 5 -The fair runs from 3 – 7 p.m. joined by Cornerstone Breast Cancer Mobile Unit funded by Susan G. Komen Foundation, MVH Bone density screenings, The Salon & Spa by Chaney’s Natural (chair massages and limited nail service), The Counseling House Relaxation Station and SPHS CARE SPHS CARE Center STTARS Program (Sexual Trauma Treatment and Recover Services, a non-profit organization located in Washington, PA that provides free services to survivors of sexual violence), blood pressure screenings and light refreshments!
Morning Social
