The California Area School District Foundation hosted its second annual Frosty Frolic on the afternoon of February 7, 2015 at 1:30 p.m.
The Hazmat team entertained the crowd with a water testing skit to deem the water safe prior to plunging into the river. |
For a $10 fee, participants were invited to take a plunge into the icy waters of the Monongahela River on Water Street at Coal Center. The event is held to help raise funds for the Foundation's goals for scholarships and grants for students of the California Area School District.
A costume contest was held prior to the jump with prizes awarded.
Local Community and business teams, California University students, California School District alumni, and students joined in the fun. Sponsorships from parents and the community also helped to defray costs for the event.
