For a second year in a row, the Zonta Club of Washington County donated sweat suits and stuffed animals to help comfort trauma patients brought to Monongahela Valley Hospital's Emergency Department (ED).

From left, ED Nurse Jen McMullen accepted the donations of sweat suits and stuffed animals from Zonta members Vickie DeMarco, who is also the telecommunications manager at MVH, and Tina DeJulius, a business application specialist at MVH.

Ms. McMullen said that trauma patients sometimes need clothes to return home and the ED staff is grateful to have something to comfort small children when they're scared. Ms. DeMarco said a grant provided the money for the sweat suits and the club raised money to purchase the fluffy stuffed animals as a local service project.

The 20 members of the Washington County club are a local chapter of Zonta International, a worldwide service organization focused on making a difference in the lives of women.
