The year ended for the Mid-Mon Valley Shipmates with a Christmas party for the members and their significant others on December 2 at the American Legion Home in Dunkirk.

Yeoman Caldwell introduced the new members that joined the shipmates this year: Jim Staff and Dale Myers. Welcome aboard!

Members Randy and Pamela Silbaugh were acknowledged as new members from last year who weren't able to make last year's party. Pam was called up to the podium and introduced as the new made Chief Petty Officer. She was promoted this past September.

Introduced were the officers for the past two years and the newly elected officers for the next two years: Past and newly elected are CO Bill Hess; XO Barry Anders; Yeoman Jim Caldwell; MAA Carl Pro. Chaplain was Rev. Fred Pfeil and newly electedto fill this role is George Diehl. Treasurer was Joe Acton, and elected for the next two years is Patrick Maloy.

The Two-Bell Ceremony table that was set up prior to the party was done up as to the meaning of the table articles, and the deceased members of 2014 were memorialized - Joseph Acton, Frances Dutch, Marshall Lignian and Perry Schwartz. With the shipmates at attention, the names of all our departed Shipmate members were read out.

According to the Shipmates by-laws, there is no meeting in January, so the next regular meeting will be held on Tuesday, February 3.
