Charleroi Rotary members Steve Arnowitz, John Helfenstein, Mike Rupert, and Donna Ramusivich visit with Holly Caruso and her 3rd grade class at Charleroi Elementary Center. Mrs. Caruso's students were among the third graders who received dictionaries from the Charleroi Rotary Club.

Laine is a senior who has been involved in many activities during her career at Charleroi High School. Her activities include serving as an officer for her senior class and serving on Student Council. She plans to major in biomedical engineering. Laine was joined at the meeting by her mother and father. Students of the Month receive a certificate and a monetary gift from the Charleroi Rotary Club.

On Monday, October 13th several members of the club presented dictionaries to the third grade classes at Charleroi Elementary Center. Charleroi Rotarians who participated in this year's distribution included Steve Arnowitz, John Helfenstein, Mike Rupert, and Donna Ramusivich.

Finally, the Charleroi Rotary Club is happy to announce that approval has been given to start an Interact Club at Charleroi High School. Co-sponsors for the club are Jessica Fritch and Colleen Arnowitz. The Charleroi Rotary Club extends its thanks to Superintendent of Schools Ed Zelich, the Charleroi Area School Board of Education, and to the sponsors for helping to bring this community service organization to the Charleroi Area School District.

Joint club meetings with Belle Vernon and Donora have been on hold. The officers are hoping to establish a schedule for the resumption of those meetings this fall and winter. Members in the Charleroi, Belle Vernon, and Donora clubs are encouraged to suggest ideas for programs to other members and officers.

The Charleroi Rotary Club meets every Wednesday at the Back Porch restaurant in Lower Speers. Meetings begin at noon and are held in the Side Door meeting rooms. New members are always welcome. For more information, contact Steve Arnowitz at 412-389-2096 or John Helfenstein at 724-494-3195.
