Monessen Veterans Council will host a Mon Valley Veterans Day Parade and Celebration on November 8 at Monessen's Eastgate War Memorials.

This is a day-long celebration and parade honoring the heroes of the Mon Valley. The parade will feature marching groups from the military, ROTC, high school bands, veterans groups from Washington, Greensburg, Uniontown, the South Hills, and others, and many other groups with vehicles, floats, and displays.

Additionally, the Greater Monessen Historical Society and museum will have an exhibit displaying memorabilia from many of the Valley's veterans that will be open through the month of November. The Monessen Library will feature a lineup of veteran-related materials for the public to view, and during the month of October, will be showing free classic war movies every Wednesday at 1 p.m. There will be free popcorn and free parking, too.
