The temperatures are dropping and the need for the food pantry is rising. During this time of year we always see the quantity of those that need help with food and other items rise.

Many seasonal workers are laid off from their jobs, and as the holidays approach, families that may have been too proud to seek help before suddenly realize that the food bank can help provide their families with the things they need.

The Finleyville Food Bank is thinking ahead and preparing for this increase in need. We are starting our annual toy and food drive early this year. We are now accepting new toys and food or monetary donations to help us through these high-demand months. The toys will be given to the families that are registered at the Finleyville Food Bank during our December distribution. Any food donations we receive will be distributed monthly, and monetary donations are used to purchase additional food and toy items as needed.

During these cooler months and the upcoming holiday season, please find it in your heart to help those less fortunate by giving to the local Finleyville Food Bank. Donations may be dropped off on any Saturday morning at the Finleyville Food Bank between 8:30 and 11 a.m. or mailed to 3595 Washington Ave., Finleyville, PA 15332. If you have any questions please call Rose Monich at 724-348-7821.
