A patriotic theme will prevail when the Stockdale Volunteer Fire Department resumes its series of 'All Oldies, Only Oldies' dances Saturday, November 1 at the SVFD community social center. That's because a salute to veterans will be a highlight of the event.

Al Marcy, first assistant fire chief and entertainment chairman at Stockdale, said all veterans in attendance will be honored in a pre-dance program beginning at 6:30 p.m. An Honor Guard from Post 801 of The American Legion in Roscoe will lead the tribute.

Disc jockey Ralph Trilli, co-host of Cruisin' Sunday on WJPA in Washington, will provide music for the dance, which will run from 7 to 11 p.m. and is open to the public. Trilli will play music from the 1950s and early 1960s including Doo-Wop, Rhythm and Blues and Rock and Roll.

Admission to the BYOE (Bring Your Own Everything – food, beverages) event is $10 per person and attendance will be limited to 600. Refreshments (not pop) will provided by the fire department.

Reservations and additional information are available at 724-330-5002.
