The crowds turned out for the Community Day and fireworks in Charleroi on July 3 from 11 a.m. - 11 p.m. All-day entertainment featured bands at Magic City Square, food and game booths, local dance groups, and a car cruise at Chamber Plaza Lot and Local Plaza Lot.

Theresa Paluso, Sid Simsic, Pasty Brinker, and Stephanie Eson, Mon Valley Initiative, were with the Greater Charleroi Community Development Corp., Charleroi. They sold tacos, nachos, bottled water, drink pouches and candy.

Fireworks proved to be the main attraction at 9:45 p.m., with the Saddle-Up Band, a country rock band sponsored by Charleroi Belgian Club, playing from 7:45 - 9:45 p.m. A real crowd pleaser, the band led up to the main event – fireworks!

The day was sponsored by Charleroi Borough, Lee Supply, Royal Order of Scotland, USA & North Charleroi Borough. Afterwards, a beach party was held.
