Adult Programs
 
Conversation Salon
Bring your opinions and observations to the Pleasant Hills Library Conversation Salon on Friday, September 6 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. Various topics of interest discussed. Newcomers invited and encouraged to participate. Refreshments served.
 
Mystery Book Club
The Pleasant Hills Library Murder and Mayhem Mystery Book Club will meet on Monday, September 9 at 1:00 p.m. The group will discuss The Case of The Missing Servant by Tarquin Hall. Extra copies of the book are available at the front desk
 
Writers Group and Lifestory Writers
The Writers Group and Lifestory Writers will meet on Tuesday, September 10 at 6:30 p.m. Anyone with an interest in writing in any genre is invited to attend. Group provides support and incisive critique for professional and amateur writers. Bring a sample piece of writing to the meeting.
 
Wise Walk - Fall Walking Program
The fall Wise Walk Program will begin September 11 at 9:00 a.m. with an informational meeting in the Library, followed by a walk along Corrigan Drive in South Park. For the remaining 9 weeks the group will meet in the Children’s Playground parking lot at South Park at 9:30 a.m. The program allows participants to walk with a group at their own pace and distance. Tai Chi Class
A new Tai Chi class will begin on Wednesday, September 11 from 6:30-8:00 p.m. The class will focus on the second section of the tai chi form. Class is suitable for beginners and experienced students. The 8 week class will be taught by Judy Crow. Fee for the class is $50.00 payable at the first class. Registration is required.
 
Mystery Lover’s Book Review
A Mystery Lover’s Book Review will be held on Friday, September 13 at 10:30 a.m. Sue Hutchins will review the works of Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child featuring genteel FBI special agent Aloysius Pendergast and the mysterious Gideon Crew.
 
Book Group
The Book Group will meet on Monday, September 16 at 7:00 p.m. to discuss Falling Together by Marisa de los Santos. Newcomers welcome. Extra copies of the book are available at the front desk.
 
Book Talk
Dr. Jack Aupperle’s bi-monthly Book Talk will review the book, The Rebellious Life of Mrs. Rosa Parks by Jeanne Theoharis on Friday, September 20 at 10:30 a.m. in the Pleasant Hills Library Program Room.

Zoobeats! Throughout July, August, and September. Stop by the library to explore the magic of music composition!
 
Preschool Story Time: Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Explore different themes through stories, songs, crafts, and a snack! For children ages 3 1/2 to 6 years old, with or without a caregiver. No registration necessary.
 
Baby Book Nook: Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. Nursery and action rhymes, songs, books, and so much more! For children birth to 2 years old, with a caregiver. No registration necessary.
 
Tot Time: Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. Learn and grow with stories, songs, finger plays, fun activities and a snack! For children ages 2 to 3 1/2 years old, with a caregiver. No registration necessary.
 
Bug Hunt
Bug Hunt at the Pleasant Hills Arboretum: Saturday, September 7 at 2:00 p.m. This program will take place at the Pleasant Hills Arboretum, located at 181 West Bruceton Road. Please register.
 
PJ Family Story Time
Spectacular Superheroes: Monday, September 9 at 7:00 p.m. Join us for exciting superhero stories, fun and fantastic games, a super craft, and a delicious snack sure to get you flying! Wear your PJs! Fun for the whole family! Please register.
 
After School Adventures
Sink or Float Science: Wednesday, September 11 at 4:00 p.m. We’ll test a variety of materials for buoyancy, then make a variety of boats and test them on the open waters. For children in Kindergarten - 5th Grade. Please register.
 
Teen Craft: Candy Sushi: Wednesday, September 18 at 4:00 p.m. Learn how to transform ordinary candy into sushi lookalikes! For teens in grades 6 – 12. No registration necessary.
 
Teen Talk: Saturday, September 21 at 1:00 p.m. Stuff your face with delicious pizza while enjoying conversation with friends and a variety of games! We’ll play Wii and chat about books! For students in grades 6 – 12. No registration necessary.
 
Handprint Flower Fundraiser
Monday, September 23 at 5:30 p.m. For a donation of $25, your handprint will grace our walls as a beautiful flower forever! Enjoy fun crafts and activities while you wait your turn. Please register.
