Both of them will be in their locations until April of 2014. The twins were born January 28, 1990 making them 23 years of age. Items are being collected that will remind them of home and help them gain a sense of comfort in a not so comfortable situation.
The goal is to send at least 2 care packages a month to each soldier. One "hygiene" package and one "food" package. These items cannot be sent in the same box. Each package will take 6 to 8 business days to get to Dean and Ian. Any of the listed items below as well as monetary donations would help to cover the cost of shipping. If you are able to contribute, please pick a month/months that you would like to donate. A detailed sheet of donations and donors will be included with each package so that Dean and Ian know how much they are appreciated.
Some reminders: if you are a church or putting a collection box out for a full month: the packages would not get to Dean and Ian until the following month. (For example, if you would want to collect for Christmas, you would have to collect in November.) Expiration dates are also very important for any product being donated.
A few of the items that are needed include: Toiletries, such as mouthwash, baby wipes, sun block, bug spray, lip balm, loufa sponges, vitamins, breath mints, deodorant (travel size), aloe vera gel, shaving cream in tubes, travel size hand lotion, nasal spray, crackers, non-perishable food, such as gum , beef jerky, slim jims, powered drink mix, sunflower seeds, foil pouches of tuna/chicken, granola bars, salted nuts, small boxes of cereal, protein bars & protein powder, small packs of hard pretzels, Cheetos, Oreos, trail mix, dried fruit, fruit roll ups, linens: pillowcases, twin sheets, towels & washcloths (green or tan), batteries, eye drops, I-tune gift cards, Frisbee, yo-yo, hacky sack, Nerf footballs, laundry detergents: Cheer liquid & powder, Surf powder & Woolite, stand alone air fresheners, fly swatter, fly paper, puzzle books, day planners, travel size games, fleece blankets, winter hats, bandanas, baseball hats, football jerseys, water bottles, travel mugs, disposable hand and foot warmers, etc.
