Lawrence Gallant, local author, explorer and historian for the Peters Creek Historical Society, will deliver a presentation on September 23 on ancient catastrophes, how they affected mankind and possible future ramifications.
Mr. Gallant has participated in several archaeological surveys and exploratory expeditions to South America and Mexico, with a focus on the prehistoric cultures of the north-eastern Andes. He is associate editor of Ancient American magazine and heads their field investigator program.
The lecture will be entitled “The Catastrophists” and will take place at the Wright Methodist Church meeting room, 785 Venetia Road, Venetia 15367, on Monday, September 23 at 7:30 p.m. The public is invited. Admission is free and refreshments will be provided.
