The Bentleyville Bicentennial Committee has been working hard in preparation for the 200 year anniversary of Bentleyville Borough proposed for July 7-10, 2016.
The Bentleyville Bicentennial Committee has been working hard in preparation for the 200 year anniversary of Bentleyville Borough proposed for July 7-10, 2016.

Suggested activities include a parade, school reunion, fireworks, a golf outing, time capsule, car cruise, essay contest, king and queen selection, community choir performance, church service, scavenger hunt, and a steam and tractor show.

The Committee would also like to publish a collection of short stories related to a person’s earliest memories of life in Bentleyville and are asking residents to contribute. Stories should be 1-2 pages and include history or events related to school, church, railroads, sports, military, scouting, businesses, service clubs, residents, parades, carnivals, visiting dignitaries, how families ended up in Bentleyville, etc. More than one story may be submitted. Completed manuscripts are to be submitted to the Bentleyville Public Library by September 30, 2015.
The next Bicentennial Committee is scheduled for September 10 at 6 p.m. at the Bentleyville Public Library
