The ninth annual “Run for Alex” race and walk was held in Bentleyville on the morning of June 1, 2013. A total of 1,228 participants competed in the 5k, 2k, and one mile walk divisions.

Run for Alex celebrates the life of Bentworth High School student Alexzandra Loos who was killed at the age of 15 by a speeding car as she walked home from soccer practice in August 2004. Monies raised from entries fund scholarships for local students and numerous other philanthropic endeavors.
