The Charleroi Lions Club recently held their Annual Awards Night and Dinner at the Charleroi Area School District Alumni Room located on the school campus. During the evening the Lions Club presented poster awards to six students and awarded two $1,000 scholarships to two high school seniors.

The two CHS seniors that received the Lions Scholarships were Torre Remish and Ian Whiten. Torre is the daughter of John Remish and Kristen Franks and will be attending California University of Pennsylvania and majoring in psychology. Ian is the son of Robert Jr. and Janice Whiten and will be attending the University of Pittsburgh with a major in mechanical engineering.

Elementary students that won the "Drug Poster Contest" are:
Third Place: Lexi Perry - Grade Four - $50.00
Second Place: Jonathan Koteles - Grade Five - $75.00
First Place: Shaylee Barber - Grade Four - $100.00

Middle School students that won the "Peace Poster Contest" are:
Third Place: Victoria Anders - Grade Seven - $50.00
Second Place: Hallie Anthony - Grade Seven - $75.00
First Place: Hannah McCurdy - Grade Seven - $100.00
