The Rostraver Township Historical Society (RTHS) monthly meeting was moved from Thursday, June 13 to June 1 in celebration of the 250th anniversary of Pontiac's Rebellion.

James R. Greenwood presented a program about the attacks of Pontiac Indians on the village of Gratztown located on the Youghiogheny River in 1763. The entire population was attacked and killed. This was the first of several attacks in Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Michigan.
In other business:
• RTHS installed 2 new members namely Susan Mallott from the great state of Texas and Virginia Lee Martin of Fellsburg. Susan was researching the Moody/Rankin lines in the cemetery, Thompson Files and the Salem Church quilt embroider signatures of the 1800's. Virginia is restoring the old family home in Fellsburg.
• RTHS had two guest attending: Ron Kovacik of Belle Vernon and Laurie Ford, Native American, letting the area know of the Native American Fest and Pow Wow on August 16 and 17 at Saltsburg, PA.
• The July 11 meeting will be presented by Joshua Scully of Uniontown a retired teacher and researcher. The topic will be on the D.L. Clark Candy Company started in a home in Uniontown and then moved to Pittsburgh, PA. The program will start at 7 o'clock after the business meeting at 6 o'clock. The public is welcome. Refreshments will be available between the meetings.
