Children, Families, and Teens Programs
Donuts with Dad: Monday, June 3 at 7:00 pm. Celebrate the man in your life by treating him to a night out at the library! We’ll share stories, make a craft and sample delicious donuts! Register by calling 412-655-2424 or emailing danylod@einetwork.net.
Preschool Story Time: Tuesdays, June 4 – August 27 at 10:30 am & 1:30 pm. Explore different themes through stories, songs, crafts, and a snack! For children ages 3 1/2 to 6 years old, with or without a caregiver. No registration necessary.
Baby Book Nook: Wednesdays, June 5 – August 28 at 10:30 am. Nursery and action rhymes, songs, books, and so much more! For children birth to 2 years old, with a caregiver. No registration necessary.
Tot Time: Thursdays, June 6 – August 29 at 10:30 am. Learn and grow with stories, songs, finger plays, fun activities and a snack! For children ages 2 to 3 1/2 years old, with a caregiver. No registration necessary.
Summer Reading Club Kick-off at Pleasant Kingdom Playground: Saturday, June 8 at 1:00 pm. Join us for games, crafts, and ice cream sundaes in celebration of summer! Sign up for Summer Reading Club while you’re there and receive a fun goody bag! There’s a program for every age from birth to 101, interest level and reading ability! Pleasant Kingdom Playground is located on East Bruceton Road, behind the Pleasant Hills Borough Building. All Ages Event. No registration necessary.
PJ Family Story Time - Goodnight Diggers: Monday, June 10 at 7:00 pm. Learn about construction equipment while enjoying stories, songs, games, crafts, and a delicious snack! Wear your PJs! Register by calling 412-655-2424 or emailing danylod@einetwork.net.

Teen Talk: Thursdays, June 13 – August 8 at 12 pm. Stuff your face with delicious food while enjoying conversation with friends and a variety of games! We’ll play Wii and chat about books! For students going into grades 6 – 12. No registration necessary.
Bug Hunt at Pleasant Hills Arboretum: Monday, June 17. Join Chad Gore, local entomologist, at the Pleasant Hills Arboretum, 181 West Bruceton Rd., to learn about bugs in our area. A $1 donation per child is requested. Register by calling 412-655-2424 or emailing danylod@einetwork.net.
Chick-fil-A Craft Night: Tuesday, June 18 at 5:00 pm. Drop by Chick-fil-a Restaurant on Route 51 anytime between 5 – 7 pm to make a fun craft, play a silly game, and enjoy a free kids 4 piece nugget or strip meal (with purchase of adult combo or entrée salad)! No registration necessary.

Teen Craft: A Whole Lot of Worry: Monday, June 24 at 6:00 pm. Learn how to make worry stones and dolls to take your worries away! For students going into grades 6 – 12. No registration necessary.
Adult Programs
The Murder and Mayhem Mystery Book Club will meet Monday, June 4 at 1:00 p.m. This month’s mystery selection is The Bone Collector by Jeffery Deaver.
Conversation Salon - Share your thoughts at the Pleasant Hills Library Conversation Salon on Friday, June 7 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. Experience Lively discussions on various topics of interest.
The Writers Group and Lifestory Writing Group will meet together on Tuesday, June 11 at 6:30 p.m. in the Program Room. Beginning and experienced writers in any genre including fiction, non-fiction, poetry and memoir writing are invited to participate. Please bring a sample essay or writing excerpt to share with the group.
Summer Reading Program - The Pleasant Hills Library Summer Reading Kick-off for both children and adults will be held on Saturday, June 8 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at Pleasant Kingdom Playground on E. Bruceton Rd. (behind the Pleasant Hills Borough Building) This year’s adult theme is “Groundbreaking Reads.” Activities for adults include several easy take home crafts, games with prizes and a make your own ice cream sundae bar. Each adult who registers for summer reading will receive a goody bag and an invitation to the end of the summer Zombie Party on August 8.
Pet First Aid - The Pleasant Hills Library will hold a Pet First Aid Program on Tuesday, June 18 from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. presented by Karen Sable, Pet Emergency Training LLC. Register by calling Deb Chebatoris at 412-220-7800.
Make a Garden Craft on Saturday, June 22 at 10:00 a.m. in the Pleasant Hills Library Program Room. The craft is a garden girl made from four clay pots and holding a bouquet of flowers and a watering can. Cost for materials is $15 payable in advance. Registration required.
Book Group - The Pleasant Hills Library Book Group will meet Monday, June 17 at 1:00 p.m. June’s selection is A Grown-Up Kind of Pretty by Joshilyn Jackson.
Haunted Investigations - Ever wondered how those haunted investigators set up their equipment to catch the image and sounds of lingering spirits? Satisfy your curiosity on Tuesday, June 25 at 8:00 p.m. when the Pleasant Hills Library presents How Do They Do That: Haunted Investigations. See and participate in an actual investigation of the Library.
Yoga Class - A six week Yoga Class will begin on Wednesday, June 26 from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. in the Pleasant Hills Library Program Room. Please bring a yoga mat. Cost for the class is $50 if paid in advance or $10 per class.
