The organizers, community members and Borough of California are very pleased to extend a huge thank you to those who came out to the "Community Clean Up" on April 22.

Without the gracious donation of your time and energy, this event would not have been able to make such a great impact on our community. We know picking up trash and recycling isn’t glamorous, but it is important and definitely appreciated by all!
The California Earth Day Community Clean up has some amazing results to share from our day out on the town…
We recycled:
7 bins of plastic
2.5 bins of Aluminum
2 bins of glass

1 bin of cardboard
5 quarts of motor oil
1 bin cardboard/paperboard
16 of the 22 grates around the trees on Wood and Third streets were cleared of leaves and debris. (A big thanks to the Borough of California maintenance crew for their help!)
106 volunteers gave their time on Monday April 22, to help make the Borough of California cleaner and safer. Hundreds of cigarette butts, broken glass, and other items were cleared from the streets! 43 bags of trash, 13 tires, a window frame, a fence post, a steel sign post (with sign attached), a metal chair, a car bumper, a license plate, a hub cap, a hamster cage (with wheel and food dish), metal wire fence, 2 8foot long drain tubes were all hauled away!
We hope to see you all again next Earth Day for another day of fun, sun, and service. You really proved that many hands make light work!
