Local golfers can give kidney patients a better shot by teeing off for charity at the National Kidney Foundation (NKF) Cadillac Golf Classic.
The event, hosted by the National Kidney Foundation Serving the Alleghenies, to be held at Valley Brook Country Club on Monday, May 20 at 12:00 pm is one link in the nationwide series of over 40 amateur golf tournaments across the country. Top finishing teams are invited to compete in the National Finals at Pebble Beach, California. The National Kidney Foundation Cadillac Golf Classic series is the largest amateur charity golf event in the world, raising more than $80 million for the NKF.
Amateur golfers, male and female, can participate as part of four-person teams. Eligible teams consist of players whose combined USGA Handicap Indexes total 42.0 or more, and only one golfer on each team may have a Handicap Index of 8.0 or less.
Golfers will vie for prizes provided by national sponsors including Cadillac, PING, Golf Digest/Golf World, One Car One Difference, Bridgestone Golf, the Greg Norman Collection and Tiffany & Co. as well as an invitation to the National Finals at the Pebble Beach Resorts (additional fees required). Local sponsors include HM Insurance, Calgon Carbon, Koppers, Cadillac, Highmark and UPMC.
The entry fee for a foursome is $1,500 and hole sponsorships are $150. A portion of the fee is tax deductible, and helps support programs in early detection, public education, research and patient advocacy provided by the National Kidney Foundation Serving the Alleghenies.
