Retired South Park Township Police Officer Ed Snee is running for the position of Magisterial District Judge for District 05-02-16 which encompasses Jefferson Hills, Pleasant Hills and South Park Township.

Ed is a long-time resident of the community and a police officer with South Park Township for 33 years. He was also a USAF Veteran of the 911th Military Airlift Group. Past President of the South Park Township Police Association, Past Chairman of the South Park Township Police Pension Committee, PA State Instructor of the DARE Program ( Drug Awareness Resistance Education ) for 14 years at the South Park Elementary and Middle Schools. Ed was involved with youth sports activities and served a Past President of the South Park Soccer Association in which he managed 500 + soccer players and 30 coaches, coached South Park High School Girls Soccer Team, and established and coached the Point Park College Girls Soccer Team.
On a Public Service level, Ed is presently a South Park Township Supervisor, Public Safety Chairman of the South Park Township Police Department, Vice Chairman of The South Park Friends, Democratic Committeeman, a member of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge # 91, and the Boroughs and Townships Police Association.
He also owns and manages several residential properties in the South Hills area. His past business interests included South Park Tanning and Nails, and Bavarian Distributors. He also built approximately 300 residential homes in the South Hills area.
On a more personal note, Ed attended Robert Morris College and Community College with majors in Business Administration and Administration of Criminal Justice. Ed and his wife Ann have 8 children and 9 grandchildren. All 8 children were born and raised in South Park Township,
Ed, in his 33 years of service as a police officer, had “ Hands On “ law enforcement experience and is uniquely qualified in Criminal Law and Procedures, the Motor Vehicle Code, Juvenile Law and Procedures, and Landlord Tenant Law and Issues. The District Justice Magisterial Court deals with each of these matters on a routine basis. He also has experience in District Magisterial Court, Juvenile Court, and Federal Court, again while serving as a police officer.
As a Township Supervisor, Ed’s actions and decisions are always predicated upon what is best for the community.
“As your District Justice Magistrate I will always promote the legal rights of all individuals, and advocate for the best interests of all residents and business owners,” said Snee. “I am asking for the support and assistance of all voters in sustaining my bid for the office of Magisterial District Judge.
