Earth Day, which will be held April 22, emphasizes the importance of recycling, conserving energy, and improving air quality, and you can help spread the word! The Department of Energy’s National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL) is accepting posters that display what Earth Day means to you. Anyone in kindergarten through fifth grade can participate.
Be original! Be imaginative! Be innovative! Posters must be submitted to NETL by March 22. They will be displayed at sites in Albany, OR; Sugarland, TX; Pittsburgh, PA; and Morgantown, WV for judging from April 16 through May 4. First, second, and third place and honorable mention entries will be selected and posted to the NETL website. Everyone will receive a certificate for participating.
Please visit www.netl.doe.gov/education/earthday/2013/ for submission guidelines and other information about the contest, and contact Lilas Soukup at Lilas.Soukup@NETL.DOE.GOV with questions. Then get out your paper, crayons, markers, and other art supplies, and create a masterpiece!
