An annual tradition is coming to Belle Vernon Public Library when once again they host a donation drive at Goodwill of SWPa’s Tri County Plaza location. Donations brought to that Goodwill location on Tuesday, April 1 between 3:00PM – 6:00PM will help the library raise money, as well benefit Goodwill in their mission to help people overcome barriers to employment.
“Our theme this year is ‘No joke – your donation matters’,” noted Library Director Elina Filander. “An April Fool’s Day event might seem early to ‘Spring Clean” your clothes, DVDs and what-nots, but you’ll go into Easter with a tidy home and help our local Goodwill.”
The Belle Vernon Goodwill donation center is located at 460 Tri County Lane on the side of the resale shop and will staffed by library volunteers during the event.
Acceptable donations include clothing, handbags, glass and housewares, cooking accessories, musical instruments, sports equipment and toys. Among the items that cannot be included in the donation day is furniture, baby cribs and gates, computers and televisions. A full list of acceptable and unacceptable items is available at the library.
For those unable to get to the Goodwill on April 1, items may be dropped off at the library beginning on Friday, March 21. The library is in the North Belle Vernon Municipal Building, 505 Speer Street. Hours of operation are Monday and Wednesday 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., Tuesday and Thursday noon to 6 and Friday and Saturday 9 to 4. For more info, contact the library at 724-929-6642.
