The donated funds went towards the purchase of 2 tranquilizer rifles and supplies.

With the check received from Mrs. Ruppen, ‘The Friends’ of preserve were able to purchase 2 tranquilizer rifles and supplies, that are to be kept by Buffalo Bob and Allegheny County Police. These rifles had been on their wish list, because of a recent buffalo escape. They will be used as part of a plan to safely return a spooked or frightened buffalo back to its family. Receiving these tranquilizer rifles greatly improves odds that an animal will be safely returned with a happy, safe ending.

The ‘Friends’ of our famous buffalos, are thankful to all SPWC ladies for this generous donation.   Monies, which enabled club ladies to donate to this cause, were raised throughout the year and especially because of their great craft show, which is held each October.
