Lemonade
Aiden Scheiber used his lemonade stand to raise $200 for Austin’s Playroom at Children’s Hospital. His sister Addison (in back) was on hand to help.

While planning a neighborhood yard sale, Natalie Scheiber, of Elizabeth Township, decided at the last minute,to include a lemonade stand, operated by her son Aiden. Even better, they could donate the money they earned to ‘Austin’s Playroom’, at Children’s Hospital, an organization that Natalie and her husband, Matthew have great respect for.

“It’s because of the services they provide for families,” said Natalie.

Austin’s Playroom was started by Mario Lemieux with a mission of comforting children who are staying at Children’s Hospital. They do this by delivering activities for the children to enjoy with friends and family during their visits. These include craft bags, ceramics to paint, board games, LEGOS, and movies to watch together.

At the end of the day, the lemonade stand raised $55 for Austin’s Playroom. When Scheiber posted on Facebook how happy she was to be able to raise the money, neighbors decided to add to that amount with more donations bringing the total amount raised to $200.  Aiden was so excited about the outcome of his lemonade stand that he is anxious to do it again. Natalie said that the family is hoping to make this an annual event. Their plans may change later to include several dates but that is something they will have to think about based on the family’s busy schedule. For Aiden, knowing that he made such a large impact on Austin’s Playroom with his generous donation he excitedly exclaimed, “I hope they have a great time!”
