As part of the celebration of Monessen’s 125th Birthday, the Monessen Veterans are hosting a display of what the United States Military is bringing to Monessen City Park on Armed Forces Day, May 20, 2023.

The display will include military vehicles, weapons and possibly a helicopter and other equipment used by our military.  The United States Air Force Civilian Component, The Civil Air Patrol will also participate, as well as recruiters from every branch of the United States military.  There will be military personnel on hand to answer questions about the military and the equipment. 

Expected to be in attendance are General David D. Thompson, Vice Chief of United States Space Force Operations and Dr. Joel Mozer, Chief Scientist of the United States Space Force. 

The Display will open at 10:00AM at the Captain John P. Onderko Memorial Walking Track near the main entrance to the park on Grand Boulevard and will be open until 5:00PM. There is no charge for this event.
