The 4th Annual Friends of South Park Spring Flower and Garden Event will take place on Saturday, May 13, from 10:00AM – 2:00PM – (the day before Mother’s Day on May 14.)   The event will be held in the Home Economics Building, 2050 Buffalo Drive in South Park.

It’s the perfect time to order your flats, hanging and patio baskets from the Friends of South Park Spring Flower and Garden Sale. Plants are supplied by a local grower and are well suited for our gardens. All proceeds from the event will go to fund projects in South Park.  We are currently working with the County to enhance the ponds on Maple Springs Drive and at the Game Preserve.

Dr. Phipp’s (from Phipp’s Conservatory) will be available at our garden event for consultation as well as our own Penn State Master Gardeners. Barbara Brewton, from the Allegheny Co. Parks Foundation will do a presentation on past and future projects in South Park.

All flowers must be preordered by April 28 for pick up on May 13 (the Saturday before Mother’s Day). You may order by downloading the form on our website www.southparkfriends.com or picking one up at the South Park Library.  A limited number of extra items, as well as locally grown perennials, will be available that day but we cannot guarantee supplies. Curbside pickup is available.
