District X of the Garden Club Federation of Pennsylvania (GCFP) held its Spring Tea on March 16, at the Mon Valley YMCA.  District Board Members hosted this event which recognized the national, state, and district Board Members, and offered a program on Weeping Conifers, by Susan Weimer, a member of the Martha Washington Garden Club.

Members of Giant Oaks Garden club served the lunch and decorated the tables with arrangements using teapots, donated by members of Town & Country GC, Dianne and Ralph Nicholson.

District X Board members and Presidents gave their reports, some sharing good ideas for programs for future meetings.  The Trash to Treasure contest entries were judged.  The designers were to choose a famous masterpiece work of art and recreate it using only recycled, reused, or repurposed materials.  The first-place winner was Corry Grant of the Pleasant Hills Garden Club, second place was Janice Yeaton, of Valley Garden Club and third place was Linda Shefcheck of Town & Country Garden Club.  The first place winning entry will be taken to the 2022 GCFP Convention to be held April 3 -5, in Malvern, PA, to be judged against the other ten Districts.
