Bethel Fife and Drum Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution honored three area students with the DAR Good Citizen Award this spring.
Samantha Seewald of Upper St. Clair High School was one of three recipients of the DAR Good Citizen Award |
The DAR Good Citizen Award is to reward individuals who possess good citizenship qualities of dependability, service, leadership, and patriotism in their homes, schools, and communities. Teachers and the school’s senior class select the students. Once a student is chosen as a high school’s DAR Good Citizen, they are invited to participate in the scholarship portion of the program by submitting an essay. The essay winner is selected by independent judges. This year’s focus question was, “How do the combined actions of so many good citizens keep our nation moving forward?”
The following students are the DAR Good Citizens winner in their school districts:
- Charlize George of Cannon McMillan High School
- Samantha Seewald of Upper St. Clair High School
- Riley Sweet of Mt. Lebanon High School
Miss George was selected as the Bethel Fife and Drum Chapter Good Citizen winner and received a token monetary award. Miss Seewald is pictured.
