Steven V. Russell will be the featured speaker at the TTOS Awards Banquet behing held on April 26.

The Toast To Our Stars Club, Inc. of North Charleroi, PA will be hosting its Seventieth Annual Achievement Awards Banquet on Sunday, April 26, 2020, at the Lock #4 Volunteer Fire Company Social Hall beginning at 5:00 PM.
The TTOS was founded in 1951 by a group of civic minded individuals to recognize and promote the participation, achievements and success of high school students from the community in academics, athletics and the arts.
This year’s featured speaker will be local educator, historian, author and sports enthusiast Stephen V. Russell. Mr. Russell was formerly the Superintendent of the Belle Vernon Area School District, Principal at Bellmar Middle School and teacher in the Ringgold School District. He is currently General Chairman of the Mid Mon Valley All Sports Hall of Fame and acts as a curator of valley sports history and photographs. He continues to be employed by the Pittsburgh Pirates, Pittsburgh Steelers and University of Pittsburgh Game Day Ticket Departments and also teaches OSHER Life Long Learning Classes at the University of Pittsburgh and Carnegie Mellon University.
In addition to the dinner and awards ceremony, over $5,000 in educational financial awards will be given out to graduating seniors who are furthering their education including the TTOS Brad Pelzer Memorial Award, TTOS Cliff Nickisher Memorial Award, John Buberniak Memorial Award, Dorothy & Emil Hyk Memorial Award, Alfred “Aggie” Agamedi Memorial Award and the Richard “Frenchy” Pireaux Citizenship Award. Thanks to the generosity of last year’s banquet speaker Belle Vernon native and former Penn State football player Bill Contz, an additional award will be given away this year in his name.
