Monongahela Valley Hospital (MVH) and its affiliated companies collaborate each year with the Boy Scouts of America Laurel Highlands Council to collect donations of non-perishable goods for area food pantries.

The health system increased its donation by 1,000 units over last year. Departments and services that collected the most were The Center for Fitness and Health, Operating Room, 6-East and Environmental Services. The area food pantries receiving the donations include the Allenport Food Bank, Charleroi Food Bank, First Presbyterian Church of Monongahela and the Monessen Salvation Army.
