The Washington County Farm Bureau has kicked-off their annual ‘Food Drive’, benefiting your local food pantry of the Greater Washington County Food Bank.

To add some excitement and encourage more participation and donations, a contest is being held this year with the local libraries, 4-H clubs and FFA Chapters. The organization that collects the most for the food drive, will receive either a monetary prize or some other form of incentive.

Accepted items:

  • Canned and dried fruits and vegetables
  • Canned and dried juices
  • Canned and dried soups
  • House cleaning supplies
  • Personal Hygienic items
  • Pasta and Pasta Sauces

Collection will run from now through the end of March. Everything collected locally will go directly to the local food pantry serving the community. For a list of collection sites, please visit www.gwcfb.org. For box pick up or more information, please call 724-632-2190 #4.
