Action Teen Christmas Collecting Donations for Families in Need

By Charlotte Hopkins

Action Teen Christmas is working to provide Christmas gifts and stocking stuffers for local families in need, with teens ages 13-16.

Teenagers are often not eligible for Christmas gifts with most organizations because of their age. Action Teen Christmas wants to bring a little Christmas magic for the “forgotten children” of Christmas.

They are collecting donations of wrapping paper, gift bags, new and gently used gifts, and stocking stuffers for boys and girls. Please no gift cards. (They want to give gifts that the teens can unwrap). Gifts can be dropped off at Bethesda Church in Elizabeth. Contact Pastor Walt Pietschmann at 412-384-7360 to make arrangements. Donations are being accepted until December 20. Families will be contacted after that date and can pick the gifts up on December 22. If a family is unable to pick up the gifts, they will be delivered by Michael Granovitz, a member of Action Teen Christmas and the Outreach Pastor for Spirit Chapel Church in Elizabeth.

This effort is designed to help teens in the South Hills and Mon Valley area. If you are a family in need of Christmas gifts, contact the group with your phone number, names and ages of your children, and a few of their interests. For any questions, to arrange a meeting for donation delivery, or to enroll you teen(s), contact the group on their Facebook page or by email at ActionTeenChristmas@Yahoo.com.
