After a week of heavy rains and flooding, it was uncertain whether the 48th Covered Bridge Festival would go on as scheduled.

Bridge1 2018
Crowds arrived early at the Ebenezer Bridge to get the best selections at the many craft booths set up along Mingo Creek.

Three of the bridges cancelled due to poor conditions, but those that stayed open enjoyed good weather that brought large crowds to shop, eat, enjoy live entertainment, and take part in the festival activities.

Ten covered bridge sites participate in the festival. The bridges In Washington County are the Brownlee Bridge at McGuffey Community Park; McClurg Bridge at Hanover Township Park; Ebenezer and Henry Bridges in Mingo Creek County Park; Hughes Bridge in Amwell Township; Pine Creek Bridge at Meadowcroft Rockshelter; Krepps Bridge in Mt. Pleasant Township; and the Wile-Sprowls Bridge at East Finley Township Park. The bridges in Greene County where festivities take place are the Carmichaels Bridge in Carmichaels; and the White Bridge at Girard's Fort.
