October brings the return of our annual Ghost Walks and a plentiful line-up of frequent fall events.
The MAHS monthly meeting returns to Thursday this month because of a reservation for that date's dinner meeting, at Mon Valley Hospital. The annual banquet speaker for Thursday October 25, 2018 of the Monongahela Area Historical Society will be Mr. Angelo Ripepi of Monongahela, PA. The banquet will be held at the Lombardi Conference Center at Monongahela Valley Hospital. Payment of $25must be received by the Reservations Deadline, Thursday, October 11. Ghost Walks
The 21st Annual Ghost Walks return October 12,13, and 20. Ghost Walks start at 7:30 PM in Chess Park. Cost is $10, and reservations are required. Includes haunted tales along the Mon

Angelo Ripepi to Speak at Annual Banquet
The Monthly Meeting and Annual Banquet Meeting of the MAHS will be held Thursday, October 25, 2018 at 6:00 PM at the Lombardi Conference Center at Monongahela Valley Hospital. The annual banquet speaker will be Mr. Angelo Ripepi of Monongahela. Ripepi is known for his keen ability to remember facts and details; his sense of humor and his mastery as a story teller. Mr. Ripepi will share stories about growing up in Gallatin, PA. Ripepi was a classroom teacher at Monongahela High School for ten years and was a guidance counselor at Elizabeth Forward High School for 29 years.
‘Murder Mystery Dinner’
A Murder Mystery Dinner, "The Captain's Last Descent," will be held on Friday, October 19, at 7:00 PM at Rippel's on the Creek, 807 Dry Run Road, Monongahela, PA 15063. Dinner, begins at 6:30 PM. Riverboat Captain David Longwell has been found dead! Was it an accident... or was he murdered? Call 724-258-2377 for more reservations. Cost is $35 per person. Cash Bar.
Self-Guided Walking Tour of Monongahela Historic District
Enjoy a Self-Guided Walking Tour of Monongahela Historic District. Available at your leisure. Stop by the museum and pick up a brochure from the box on the outside of the front door and do our self guided walking tour. There are 22 historic locations to visit along the way. Smartphone technology incorporated into the tour includes video and narration for each location. All you need is your smartphone.
