Dr. Rosalie Elenitsas was inducted into the Academy of Master Clinicians at their annual dinner, held in Philadelphia.

Dr. L. Larry Jameson, MD, PhD, Executive Vice President, University of Pennsylvania for the Health System, Dean, Perelman School of Medicine said, “The Academy of Master Clinicians upholds a commitment to clinical excellence that dates to the founding of our medical school more than 250 years ago. We honor its members as role models, who combine diagnostic acumen, technical proficiency, and an abiding devotion to compassionate care.”
Dr. Elenitsas was recognized as the Herman Beerman Professor, Director of the Penn Cutaneous lmmunodiagnostics Laboratory, and Director of the Penn Cutaneous Pathology Services, and is an internationally prominent academic dermatopathologist and dermatologist who is an expert in the diagnosis and treatment of pigmented lesions. She is known for her excellent judgment, exemplary interpersonal communication skills with patients and colleagues at all levels, and being a committed and supportive team player. She is a highly valued educator who has received numerous teaching awards at Penn and nationally, including the American Society of Dermatology Walter R. Nickel Award for Excellence in Teaching of Dermatology in 2016.
Dr. Elenitsas Graduated from Monessen High School, Washington and Jefferson College, and University of Pittsburgh Medical School.
She is the daughter of Mary Elenitsas and the late Nicholas G. Elenitsas of Monessen and is married to John K. Gilliland; they have two teenage daughters and live in Philadelphia.
