The Community College of Allegheny County’s South Campus and West Hills Center will offer a wide variety of five-day summer camps to help ensure an active, fun and enriching summer for the area’s youth.
The camps will begin July 9 and are open to students who have completed 1st through 12th grades. Sessions are held from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 12:45 p.m. to 3:45 p.m., except for SAT Prep, which runs from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Camps for grades 1–3 include: Crazy Concoctions; Coding with STEAM; Get Moving; Art Zone; Camp Habitat; and Viva Espanol! Camps for grades 4–6 include: Spy Treasure Hunt; Art Zone; Building Up; CBEEP (Chemistry, Biology, Environmental/Earth Science, Physics); Advanced Coding with STEAM; and Knights & Castles.
Camps for grades 7 and 8 include: CBEEP (Chemistry, Biology, Environmental/Earth Science, Physics); Math Clinic; Reading and Writing Clinic; Interior Designer; Self Defense; and Game Design. Camps for grades 9–12 include: Self Defense; Winners Workshop for Teens; Teen Creative Writing; Career Exploration; and SAT Prep—Math & Verbal.
Students can register until the day before a camp begins, providing the session is not full. All sessions cost $135. Campers who register for both a morning and afternoon session will receive a $20 discount, and campers who attend both sessions can bring their lunch and eat with CCAC staff. Each additional child in the family will receive a $20 discount. Payment plans are available.
