North Belle Vernon Community Bank Park Upcoming Events.

Elected Officials Night

North Belle Vernon Community Bank Park will be hosting an elected officials night on May 16 at the North Belle Vernon Community Bank Park from 5:30-8 p.m. This event will feature a free cookout sponsored by the North Belle Vernon Community Bank recreation commission for all in attendance.

The purpose of this event is to open up communications among the state, county, and local elected officials that represent our tri-county area to discuss the top major issues that we face today. All of our neighboring local municipalities face monetary restraints via their budgets, lack of needed equipment for their infrastructure maintenance, and crime due to our drug problems in our hometowns. We all realize we cannot win these battles alone, and that we have to face them together. Before we can fight these problems together, we have to get to know each other.

The general public is also encouraged to attend to take part in these important conversations. We realize this is just the beginning, but it is a start for all of us to bridge the gaps between us and start to become successful with our goals of making the Mon-Yough Rivers region an area to attract both visitors and tourists to our area.

Pet Adoption Day

The North Belle Vernon Community Bank Park will be holding their second annual Pet Adoption Day on Saturday, May 19 at the park from 12-4 p.m. This year's event is sponsored by Merrick Pet Foods.

The pet adoption agencies that will be in attendance include Washington County Humane Society from Eighty Four, Fayette County Friends of Animals, Yukon Pet Adoption League, and Westmoreland County Friends of animals.

If you cannot adopt a pet, then please donate cleaning supplies, pet food, blankets, pet toys, and monetary donations. All donations will be evenly split among all participating pet adoption agencies. It is out goal to find every orphaned pet a home that day. You'll have the opportunity to bring lots of love into your home by adopting an abandoned pet looking for a home.
