For the past 16 years, Family Hospice and Palliative Care has been honored to help local residents remember loved ones through the Holiday Dove Memorial Trees. Memorial Trees have been placed in nine locations throughout the Pittsburgh region.

The approaching holiday season provides a reminder of the loved ones who are no longer present to celebrate. Whether through their spirit, their caring, the sound of their voice, their laugh, or their touch, they have made an impression that never fades away.

For a suggested donation of $35 (or three tags for $100) a loved one’s name is inscribed on a tag and placed around the neck of a white dove that adorns the holiday trees. All monies raised benefit Family Hospice patients and families locally.

Trees will be on display through the last week of December at the following locations:

• Century III Mall
• Galleria of Mt. Lebanon
• Family Hospice Inpatient Center at Mt. Lebanon
• Veterans Tribute Tree, Family Hospice Mt. Lebanon Courtyard

“The dove trees are a meaningful tradition for families,” shares Family Hospice Director of Development Christine Jamison. “We are pleased to offer this program in different parts of the city so that families from our entire community have a place to visit their loved one's dove and tag. It is our hope that these doves bring peace to those whose loved ones are no longer with them for the holiday season.”

To make a donation for a dove tag, visit FamilyHospicePA.org. Donations can also be made through the mail. For more information, please call 412-572-8874.
