South Park Theatre is closing out their main-stage production season with a three-weekend run of 'Vintage Hitchcock: A Live Radio Play.' The play is on stage from September 21 – October 7.
Pictured are (l-r): Helga Terre, Bob Ference, Sarah Parker, Brad Campbell, and Howard Elson. |
The play, directed by Vince Ventura, features three of Hitchcock's thrillers in a radio broadcast format. Audience members get to see the 'behind-the-scenes' makings of a radio broadcasting, paying attention not only to the actors as they read into the microphones, but also getting a glimpse into the world of sound effects, as the setup to create footsteps, doors opening and closing, trains whizzing by, and even thunder storms are right there for the the audience to see.
The play stars Bradley Campbell, Andy Coleman, Howard Elson, Bob Ference, Sarah Parker, Caitlin Skaff, and Helga Terre, who each take on various roles in the three stories that are presented during the show: 'The Lodger' and 'Sabotage' comprise acts 1 and 2, and after an intermission break, the play resumes with 'The 39 Steps' as the third and final act.
Performances take place on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. Tickets are $15. Call the box office to make your reservations today at 412-831-8552, or visit www.southparktheatre.com.
