Donations Needed From Local Residents
An effort is underway to try and raise funds to install a Veterans Honor Roll at the recently renamed Union Township Veterans’ Memorial Park on Brownsville Road.
There are 240 veterans from the Finleyville and Union Township area who served and gave their lives for our country. This Honor Roll would be a tribute and recognition for their sacrifice.
Finleyville resident William Castor who helped facilitate the renaming of the park on Brownsville Road is leading the effort to install the Veterans Honor Roll. "I am getting help from businesses in our area, and also from the Veteran’s club, but we could really use donations from our residents," said Castor. He added that the estimated cost for a new Veterans Honor Roll for the park is about $8,000.
