Blaine Hill Fire Department has teamed up with a variety of motorcycle groups to raise funds and collect much-needed items for the patients at Children's Hospital.
Blaine Hill firefighters and several motorcycle groups are working side by side to collect much-needed items for the children at Children's Hospital. |
Their event, the Motorcycle Dice Run, will be held Saturday, September 30, from 9:30 a.m. – 8 p.m. Tickets will be sold up to and on the day of the event. Included in the ticket is access to the pasta buffet, beer/water, and raffle tickets that can be used in the 50/50, basket auctions, and the games of chance. Additional drinks are available at a cost. During event registration, there will be a pancake breakfast at an additional cost of $4. No one under the age of 18 is permitted to attend. No club colors can be worn that day.
Tickets are $25 for a rider and $20 for the passenger. Those wishing to purchase tickets early will receive a $5 discount if bought by September 9.
The way the Motorcycle Dice Run works is: The rider will have a chance to participate in a dice competition, with prize money awarded for the highest and lowest dice roll. If the passenger chooses to participate in the dice roll, he/she will need to pay the same cost as the rider for their ticket. People not riding a motorcycle or accompanying a rider can also purchase tickets for $15, but they will not be eligible for the dice roll.
Everyone can enjoy the other festivities planned. There will be music inside the fire hall by DJ Nik Entertainment. Playing outside the fire hall will be two live bands, The Regular Joes and Rewound. A variety of vendors will be selling merchandise. To date, they include Country Hammer Moonshine, Made with Love by Letisha, Kemikal (photography and jewelry), and K&W Cycles. Additional vendors will be added throughout the weeks before the event. Proud sponsors of the event include Russ Brown Motorcycle Attorneys and Miller Lite.
Those attending the event are encouraged to bring a toy or an item that can be used by the children at the hospital. For each item brought that day, an additional raffle ticket will be given. For safety reasons, all donated items must be non-toxic, brand new and still in the original package. They cannot be items that were stored for an extended period of time or have a strong odor of perfume or cigarettes. Homemade items need to pass the standards of the Child Life Department. They can be contacted at 412-692-5022.
