On June 18, 2017 at Chartiers Park in Bridgeville, S City Outdoors held their first annual fishing tournament in conjunction with the Hope for Heroes Foundation. This year’s tournament was in honor of slain Canonsburg police officer, Scott Bashioum.

Being so moved by the senseless murder of Officer Bashioum, two local business owners, Dan Krivanek and Rider Dinnen, wanted to give back to those Scott had left behind. Dan, being a father, could not fathom leaving one child behind, let alone four, which is what sparked them to create this fishing tournament - to help support Officer Bashioum’s four children. Attracting over fifty anglers to the park at 6 a.m. that morning was seen as a huge success by the two. “It came together better than we could have dreamed of,” said Rider Dinnen, co-owner of S City Outdoors.

S City Outdoors would like to thank the Hope for Heroes Foundation, Buckets Charters, Mount Me Taxidermy, Railyard Grill and Tap Room, Damico Plumbing, and all of the other local sponsors and tournament participants that made this event possible. S City Outdoors would also like to extend a special thank you to the Bridgeville Borough, particularly Mrs. Sheryl Valentino for being so instrumental in ensuring that this event was a success.

S City Outdoors and the Hope for Heroes Foundation are proud to announce that by the efforts of this tournament, $2,500 will be donated to the trust fund of Scott Bashioum’s four children. To learn more about S City Outdoors, or if you are interested in giving back to this cause, visit www.scityoutdoors.com. A portion of proceeds on select apparel will continue to be donated to the Hope for Heroes foundation in the coming month.
