When it was a cloudy day, appearing as if it may rain, attendance was just average; however once the sun came out, the crowds turned out at the Country Day celebration at NBV Community Bank Park, on Friday, June 16, from 5:30 -10 p.m.

Attendees spanned every age—toddlers, teenagers, and seniors. The event featured a concert, food, and a movie. Everyone had a wonderful time, some even got up and danced.
“Country day has been a very collaborative effort from NBV Recreation Commission as a whole. The significance is to have Tim Litvin playing at the event, and playing the movie ‘True Grit’ after! Tim Litvin is an up and coming country singer from the Pittsburgh area,” stated Cody Ambrose, NBV Park online administrator.
Litvin said that he is “very excited to be here. It is a nice local show. It’s always a good time to be in Belle Vernon - every time I’ve been here.” R.J. Sokol, Chairman of Parks of Recreation for the Council of NBV, joked that Litvin made a promise that if he makes it big in Nashville, he’s playing for us.
“Tim Litvin and the Nature Boys,” his band, sold t-shirts and CDs and played mostly original songs written by Litvin. He announced that he will be returning to the park on July 7 for “Veteran’s Salute Night.”
Barb Day, councilwoman for North Belle Vernon, said that the idea for Country Day came to them during a meeting when trying to decide on movies. Gina C. Lynn, Executive Director of Chamber of Commerce, said, “Everything benefits the park activities. It’s a good way to start the summer festivities.”
After the concert, the Western movie “True Grit” was shown.
